BOONE COUNTY, Mo. — A Columbia man has pleaded guilty to a plea deal that drops a murder charge and allows him to be sentenced on a drug distribution charge.
Dariel M. Reid, 19 entered into a plea bargain ahead of a pre-trial conference scheduled for Monday in Boone County.
Reid is the last of three defendants charged after the 2017 shooting death of Keith Chambers, 33, in Columbia.
Brian H. Smith, 19 and Navarro Smith, 18 pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges earlier this year.
Investigators say Chambers was killed during a shootout at a drug deal gone bad on Claudell Lane in June.
