BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – A plea hearing has been scheduled Monday, May 20, for a Columbia man charged with murder.

Ahead of next months trial in Boone County, the attorney for Devontre D. Kennedy, 24, made the request for the hearing Wednesday. Kennedy is charged with second degree murder, discharging a firearm into a habitable structure and second degree assault. Investigators say he and Darold Pruitt, 46, of Columbia, shot and killed Shamya Brimmage, 25,and wounded another woman in March of 2017.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m in the afternoon.
