ValleyPALOOZA! – MVC FAMILY WEEKEND 2011 SET FOR SEPT. 22-24

Events taking place include MVC Viking Stampede, barbecue and dueling pianos, Viking
football and more!

Marshall, Mo. (September 20, 2011) — Missouri Valley College will welcome parents
and family at its second annual ValleyPALOOZA—Family Weekend Sept. 22-24.

The MVC Viking Stampede Rodeo will kickoff ValleyPALOOZA at 7 p.m. on Thursday,
Sept. 22 at the Saline County Fairgrounds. The Viking Stampede, which will be held 7
p.m. nightly Thursday through Sat., Sept. 24 is the only home event for the MVC
rodeo teams.

Saturday’s events include a schedule of Viking athletics as well as several
activities on campus. Dueling pianos will be featured from 3-6 p.m. in the tailgate
area, which is located in the lot south of Gregg-Mitchell Field and west of the
Burns Athletic Complex. 

A barbecue will also be held in the tailgate area from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday. The
barbecue is free for MVC students and parents. Parents must present their Family
Weekend invitation as their free dinner passes. Other family member and guests are
welcome for $5 per person.

Women’s volleyball will play at 12:30 p.m. in the Grover C. Redford Gymnasium. The
Viking football team will take on Baker University at 6 p.m.

“We hope to give participating families a glimpse of life at MVC and get them
excited about their children’s education,” said Heath Morgan, dean of students. “We
are off to a great start this semester and I think it’s excellent for parents to
experience this environment.  We encourage parents to meet some of the faculty
members, participate in campus activities, and enjoy the beauty of our campus.”

The MVC Barnes and Noble Bookstore, which is located on the first floor of Ferguson
Center, will be open from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday and will have merchandise available
at the football game through halftime.

Viking Stampede tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for MVC students and children and
can be purchased at the gate. MVC football tickets are free for MVC students, $7 for
adults, and $3 for students and children. Volleyball tickets are free for MVC
students, $X for adults, and $X for children.
