The Early Childhoold Lab School was opened in conjuction with Marshall’s First Christian Church. “They actually had a pre-school in it before, so they had it already set up for us, and they are allowing us to use that space,” said DeGrass, “We have a great partnership with them. And we take kids from ages six weeks to five years. We saw a really big need in the community for a good, quality childcare facility, and we’re happy to offer the services to our alumni and other community members also.”

The center has a focus on learning. “We’re definitely going to use the lab school for our students, for learning and practicum and intership opportunities. We have early childhood development students, and elementary education students who will be doing internships and experience in the lab school. So it’ll be a learning experience for both our students and for the students in the facility,” said DeGrass.

This year’s roster is full, but next year’s child care is open to MVC faculty, staff, students, alumni. Limited spots are available to community member.
