KANSAS CITY, MO – The Missouri Department of Conservation is holding a Family Outdoors Day where they will teach outdoor hunting and fishing skills. Ducks Unlimited and Nathan’s Catch are contributing to the event. Hunting and fishing exhibits will be on hand, and the MDC experts will be there to give tips on fishing and hunting.
People will be able to sharpen their skills at an archery and gun range or enjoy some fishing. All equipment is provided. There will be volunteers on hand to assist with casting, baiting, and handling fish. Family Outdoors Day is welcoming experienced sportsman to come out and enjoy the day as well.
Family Outdoors Day honoring the National Hunting and Fishing Day will be held in the afternoon starting at 10 a.m. The MDC will have exhibits and teaching stations also. Those will be set up throughout the Reed Wildlife Area and Nathan’s Catch will be giving out fishing rods to kids there.
Duck calls will be taught and DU will be offering free Greenwing Memberships to kids. There will also be a duck wing maze and information about wetland waterfowl.
The afternoon honoring National Hunting and Wildlife day will have animal fur exhibits, and turtles for people to see and touch.
