MISSOURI— North Central Missouri College has partnered with the Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation to bring residents in a six county area a new resource, the North Central Missouri Business Facilitation Group.

Dr. Neil Nuttall, President of NCMC, recently spoke with KMZU about this exciting new opportunity. While the group is still in its early stages, this is a foundation whose beginnings will surely take off quickly. “The Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation Group began this effort about ten years ago,” explained Nuttall, “After seeing their success, we approached them about modeling our group after theirs and bringing to our region, our six counties, the same kind of activities that they were involved in.” Those six counties include Caldwell, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Harrison, and Grundy.

The new NMCBF will focus on providing direct support to existing small businesses as well as helping start-ups for new small businesses within the region. Nuttall expressed a sort of connection to the area, “It’s really really grass roots, business people helping business people, to spur the economy in rural Missouri.” One goal of the group is to be able to provide someone that can directly relate to the work being done while helping to analyze needs and network within the given county while reaching out to the Department of Economic Development or another appropriate group for the need that is at hand. “So it’s channeling their needs directly with someone that’s right there locally with them so that they have a face to put to the effort as well as the resources necessary.”

The group is still working towards providing a full staff, at the moment a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer are in place, all of which are business people themselves. Anyone interested in a future with the NCMBF either as a resource provider or for the purposes of your own small business growth, or if you have questions and would like to learn more, questions and comments are directed to President Dr. Neil Nuttall, Duane Kohldstaedt with Farmers State Bank in Cameron, or the City of Trenton’s Economic Developer, Ralph Boots.
