MISSOURI Over 10 million animals enter overcrowded shelters every year. February is Spay and Neuter Awareness Month, and Jennifer Pearl who is with the Animal Medical Center of Mid-America says getting your pets spayed or neutered not only decreases animal shelter populations, but is healthy for your pets.
Part of the over-population problem is because 80% of people do not know when to neuter. Fifty percent of litters are not placed.
