Council also learned of a grant the city received for their Annual Bluesfest. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Assistant Administrator Russell Griffith:
Bluesfest will be June 30th at the City Park. Council received an update on their storm sewer project. Griffith says the nearly $640,000 project is nearly finished. The City did receive financial assistance from a Community Development Block Grant. The city is now hoping for money from the state to finish up the roads in the southeast part of town. Council was warned that their economic outlook next month will seem a little worse off than it does right now because a lease payment is due in the near future. They took out a $400,000 lease purchase to refurbish the water plan three years ago.
