Carroll County Prosecutors filed charges Monday against the father of a Carrollton teen related to a fatal fire at a home on County Road 296 in late October.  The charge against Theopolis “Ted” Johnson II, 43, comes after the arrest of his son Theopolis Johnson III, 17, on Oct. 27.  Both are accused of first-degree statutory rape.

The father is believed to have been the fiánce of Kristen Howery.  Howery was reported “missing” shortly after authorities found the burned trailer home on Oct. 21.

The probable cause statement has confirmed that Howery’s 13-year-old daughter was one of the victims found among the debris, but authorities have not officially released names.  According to investigators, the young girl was 22 weeks pregnant and the father of her child was most likely the 17-year-old son.  Vaginal swabs taken from the 13-year-old on Oct. 24 revealed a high probability that the seminal fluid found belonged to “Ted” Johnson.

The father and son had lived with the family for about two years.

Each are being held on a $75,000 bond.
