The Chillicothe City Council unanimously voted to hire Ike Holland as the city’s new Administrator, in executive session Monday night. Click to hear KMZU’s Jillian Molloy talk with Chillicothe Mayor Chuck Haney:
Haney says Holland’s desire to continue serving in an administrative role coupled with family ties to the area helped push him to the top of the council’s list. Haney added Holland was aided in his decision to pursue the position by witnessing many positive things happening in the city.

Ike Holland was born and raised in Coffeyville, Kansas and currently resides in Montrose, Colorado. He has 10 years experience in local government and 22 years of military service. He has experience in finance and budget control, policy development, public and private utilities, human resources and project management. He earned his bachelors degree from the University of Kansas and his masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado.
Mr. Holland and his wife Leslie have five children, three sons and two daughters ranging in ages from 12 to 20. Ike is a member of the Knights of Columbus, his family plans on attending the St. Columbian Catholic Church here in Chillicothe.
Mr. Holland will begin work as the Chillicothe City Administrator on August 15, 2011.
Mr. Holland was one of three administrator finalists in an original application list of 51 persons for the administrator position with the city. The City of Chillicothe has been operating without an administrator since mid April.
