Pettis County Health Center announced it has added more restrictions on businesses that require close contact with the public before reopening  at its Covid-19 task force briefing on Monday. The move was due to the doubling of confirmed Covid-19 cases since April 23, according to JoAnn Martin, health department administrator. Pettis County now has 48 confirmed cases. Businesses, like hair salons, are being asked to provide plans to the health department on how they will comply with CDC guidelines. Restaurants are required to submit plans before reopening in-dining service. Plans for self-serve items in convenient stores also must be conveyed to the health department. The public is asked to wear a mask or face covering to protect others from the spread of the virus. The order went in effect on Monday and will expire May 31.
