EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. --Â Investigators from Kansas City and the Missouri Highway Patrol assisted Excelsior Springs Police to investigate a fatal pedestrian accident involving a train.
The incident occurred just before noon Sunday, May 21, at the crossing on South McCleary Road, near the Walmart in Excelsior Springs. The victim's name is yet to be released. Authorities say it appears the man was coming from shopping at Walmart when he walked into the path of locomotive.
The Excelsior Citizen is reporting that a small brown dog with a red collar was found abandoned near the scene.
