JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri State Parks is working in partnership with the U.S. National Park Service to award community grants to improve parks, trails or other public outdoor spaces.
KMZU’s Brian Lock was able to chat with Rebecca Rost, Grant Section Chief for Missouri State Parks, who explained the logistics of the Land and Water Conservation Fund and Recreational Trails Program grants and how to apply.

Missouri State Parks will accept applications for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant and the Recreational Trails Program through mid-February.
LWCF grants are to be used for outdoor recreation projects and are available to cities, counties, public school districts and public universities.
Recreational Trails Program grants provide funds for trail-related projects and are additionally available for private schools and for-profit and nonprofit organizations and businesses.
