The second annual Nornorne Soybean Festival 5K will happen on the 10th of August. Click to hear KMZU’s Chris Clift talk with Athletic Director Michael Lock:
“When we got this started last year, my goal was to have 50-75 walkers or runners to do our event,” said Lock. “When I went back and looked I was amazed with our turnout last year. We had 161 participants last year. My goal for this year is to get that number up to 200 and to have another successful 5K.”
The 5K will take place in Norborne on the 10th of August at 7:00. Anyone interested can find sign-up sheets at the KMZU station in Carrollton, the Carroll County YMCA across from Sonic, at Norborne High School, or by calling Michael Lock.
“Even Chloe is with me who was 8 last year, and she walked it with me last year, so she completed her first 5K at the age of eight,” added Lock. “it’s for everybody. We had some moms pushing strollers in it last year, and Robbie Lock came down and ran the whole thing in 19 minutes. So we have some people who walk it in close to 60 minutes and others who run it in 19 minutes.”
