It’s Soybean Festival time once again in Norborne. Click to hear KMZU’s Mike Stone speak with Chairperson Linda Leabo:
As always, organizers have a full schedule of events planned. “We have a few new things added,” said Leabo, “We are excited about the addition of a Christian music group on Friday evening. We also have some exciting talent for the stage show that night. Of course, the NIC’s Homegrown, Hometown Ha!Ha! Show is always something new. This year, the Lions Club is offering dances on Friday and Saturday which feature the local groups the J Street Band and Teacherz Pet.”
Friday is designated as family fun day. “The games start at 9:00 in the morning and will continue throughout the day until 4:00,” said Leabo, “That will conclude with the watermelon eating contest. The Lions Club will have a fish fry that evening and the carnival is open each night from 6:00 to 10:00. The stage show starts at the school at 7:00 and will feature a lot of local talent and their musical abilities.”
