The Norborne Soybean Festival is coming up starting on August 7th and goes through the 9th. KMZU’s Sandi Wilson spoke to Norborne Athletic Director Michael Lock about the 5K that is going to be happening on the 9th.
There is a $20 donation in order to be able to participate in the 5k, and if you pre-register you will be guaranteed a shirt the day of the race. Mr. Lock points out that the course for the 5k is all flat so it makes it perfect for people who may want to push a stroller, or those who may have some knee/leg problems since it does not put excess stress on your body.
Patrons can also opt to use the “Ready Set” device which is computerized to start timing you when you start and catalogue your results to the company’s website which manufactures the device.
The course will begin and end at the Norborne High School and 100% of the funds taken in will go back into the athletic fund for the Norborne Schools.
You can contact Michael Lock directly to register at 660-542-4449. You can also view the events by going to the Lions Club page which is the main sponsor for the festival.
