The listening area is experiencing notable amounts of rainfall for the first time in about six weeks. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with National Weather Service Meteorologist Matthew Dux:
Widespread rains are predicted through Monday afternoon and into Tuesday. Much of the area is on track for .5 inches of rain, but some places could receive 1.5 inches.
The precipitation was needed in the area. “We had some scattered rain to the early portions of last week. However, it’s really been since the early portions of June since we’ve had widespread rains across much of Missouri, and southeast Nebraska, southern Iowa. So it’s been about a month and a half or so since we’ve had much of note in the local area,” said Dux.
Temperatures are expected to climb back up to the upper 80s by the middle of the week. Another chance of rain is possible by Friday.
