Voters in one school district will head back to the polls on June 7th to determine one seat on the school board. Oak Grove R-6 candidates Sue Alexander and Jennifer Smith finished in a tie. Lafayette County Clerk Linda Nindick says the candidates chose another election, instead of other, cheaper options.
Nindick says she’s going to treat this like any other election.
Nindick says one polling place will be used in Lafayette County, that will be in Bates City. She adds that the cost for Lafayette County alone with be somewhere between four and five thousand dollars; published reports put a complete cost to the district at around 20-thousand dollars.
