The Oak Grove Tractor Pullers are hosting their annual function Saturday. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Oak Grove Tractor Pullers Member Lee McCallister:
McCallister says the pull originally supported youth baseball in Oak Grove but has grown to donate to three Little League Sports and Boy Scout troop #266. According to McCallister, a group of concerned parents, mostly famers, went to a bank and borrowed money to host the first event 37 years ago and it has grown significantly since that time. The Missouri State Tractor Pullers sanctioned event isn’t just a bunch of farmers gathering for a good time, as there are ten classes and all of the machines have been modified to create maximum horsepower.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages six to twelve, and kids under six are free. The pull starts at 6:00 pm at Frick Park in Oak Grove.
