ODESSA, Mo – With the future of the Odessa police department uncertain, the city’s board of aldermen prepare for a discussion at tonight’s meeting that explores the possibility of utilizing the Sheriff’s Department to beef up a dwindling police force.  The resignations of three officers renewed controversy and rumors that some city officials desire to disband the police force.

City officials will also look to other issues at the meeting, including a public hearing for the 2016 tax levy, and preparations for the homecoming parade.  The regular session begins at 7 p.m. in Dyer Park.
