The Odessa Board of Aldermen is scheduled to meet Monday June 10th. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Jon Holmes.
Holmes said decisions will be made regarding the Puddle Jumper’s request for a picnic license. “We began that discussion last meeting and that was to educate the Board of Aldermen on where we were on the issue and what we need to do as far as being in compliance with state law.” He added, “This week we will discuss more about the specifics, and then the board will be voting on it at that time.” If the board does not approve the request, Puddle Jumper Days will be a “dry” event.
The Board of Aldermen will also be discussing the Personnel Manual for city employees. Holmes said this is one of the most important items on the agenda. “A few years ago the City of Odessa employed a law firm to write a Human Resources Personnel Manual. It was good, but over time there have been some issues that we’ve seen that we’d like to change. We need to make some additions and clean up the language in some places, until we come up with one that we’re comfortable with.”
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
