There was a public hearing prior to the Odessa Board of Aldermen meeting Monday night to receive the public’s input on a Community Development Block Grant.

Jon Holmes

Holmes says, “The grant is for $500,000 and will be used for the waste water treatment plant.”

Other items discussed included forest management at the community’s reservoir and the installation of grinder pumps to remedy sewer problems on Varner Street.

Homles says, “The forest management could bring up to $4,000 in funding for the city and be helpful to the environment as well.”

The board also approved a liquor license for Morgan’s.
