Money will be a topic of interest at the Odessa Board of Aldermen meeting Monday evening. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Odessa City Administrator Jon Holmes:
Holmes says the Governmental Accounting Standards Board statement 54 requires cities to maintain a certain fund balance as a safety net for emergencies. GASB-54 is one form that must be reported annually to the federal government that declares how much money a city government has in its various funds.
In other city news, Holmes has reviewed the 2012 budget and plans to recommend it for board approval during the open session. The meeting starts at 7:00 in the Dyer Park Community Center.
