Raytown, MO – An officer involved shooting is being investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Raytown Police Department said they responded to a disturbance in the 6000 block of Kentucky where a man reportedly had a gun.
Authorities said when Raytown police arrived at the home and approached the man who was possibly armed, an officer shot the man during the encounter. The man went to the hospital for treatment and was later released into police custody.
No word on what charges the man is facing. The officer is placed on routine administrative leave pending the investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
