Cass County’s Presiding Commissioner has been removed from office after only three days on the job. The move comes after a judge issued a temporary restraining order. Cass County Prosecutor Teresa Hensley filed a lawsuit Monday, arguing that Herschel Young was disqualified from running for public office due to a previous felony conviction. Under state law, no one convicted of a felony can hold office. A hearing on the matter will be held at a later date.
