Update (4:40 p.m.) – According to a Friday press release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office the autopsy performed on Justin Michael Emmerton has determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound. Those are the only details available at this time. The Rural Missouri Major Case Squad will convene Saturday to continue the investigation.

The victim has been identified as Justin Michael Emmerton, 29, of rural Kingsville, Missouri. An autopsy is scheduled to be completed late Friday afternoon. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Rural Missouri Major Case Squad at (660) 885-7315.

Shortly before noon on Friday, June 7, investigators with the Rural Missouri Major Case Squad made notification to the next-of-kin of the man found in Grand River near Urich on Wednesday evening, June 5. The victim has been identified as Justin Michael Emmerton, age 29, of rural Kingsville, Missouri. Identification was made by a fingerprint match through the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory on Thursday, June 6.

Emmerton’s autospy is scheduled to be completed late this afternoon at the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office, which should provide more information for investigators to follow up on over the next several days.
