UPDATED: (06/15/16) 11:20 a.m. The following is an addition to this story sent out by Chief Deputy, David S. Hanaway of the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office identifying the suspects is Tuesday’s shooting: The man fatally shot was Nicholas J. Ferro, 47, of Kansas City, Missouri. The man arrested at the scene is Glen E. Williams, 48, also of Kansas City, Missouri. Williams has been charged with Felony DWI, Felony Driving While Revoked and Felony Possession of Burglary Tools. Williams bond has been set at $75,000.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo.– Lafayette County has released more information on the shooting reported earlier today near Odessa.
According to a press release from Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 9 a.m., Lafayette County dispatch received a 911 all stating two men were at her house asking for gasoline. The location of the incident was on the North Outer Road east of Johnson Drive. The caller reported that the men then left her house and were parked at the end of the drive by Outer Road in an older gray/blue Buick.
A Lafayette County deputy responded to that location and made contact with the vehicle and the two men at the end of the drive by the Outer Road. One of the men produced a firearm and was fatally shot by the deputy. The other man surrendered to the deputy and is currently incarcerated in the Lafayette County Jail.
The incident is under further investigation. Once the investigation is complete, it will be reviewed by the Prosecuting Attorney.
The name of the deceased can be released once there has been a positive identification made and notified of next of kin. The other suspect has not been formally charged at this time.
