A KMZU listener made the newsroom aware of a two-vehicle crash in Lafayette County Monday morning. That collision sent a Concordia man to the hospital. The highway patrol now reports a vehicle driven by 85-year-old Leland Helt collided with another vehicle just before 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of highway 20 and highway 23 after the Concordia man failed to yield at a stop sign. Helt was northbound on 23 and was struck by eastbound driver 32-year-old Ernest Wyatt of Warrensburg who was uninjured. Helt was transported to I-70 Medical Center with moderate injuries.
