In a special meeting last week, the Orrick Board of Education selected their next leader. Former New Bloomfield Superintendent Christopher Small is coming to Orrick following a split from the Callaway County school district in September. According to Orrick Board President Art Endsley, school officials have not found anything in Small’s past to indicate he is incapable of leading the district.
According to reports, Small was placed on administrative leave, but the New Bloomfield board later agreed to drop unspecified charges in exchange for his immediate resignation. Endsley adds that the Orrick School District is confident in Small’s abilities.
When it comes to the transition, Endsley said it could be challenging.
Small accepted the position at Orrick Monday and will begin work on Friday. He replaces Dr. Marcus Stucker who resigned from Orrick earlier this month.
