UPDATE: 11/4/19 – The arrest last week of a driver in Lafayette County may result in additional charges, including human trafficking.
State troopers took into custody a 22 year old driver, and a 15-year-old passenger, who had 5.5 pounds of meth attached to her abdomen. The arrest happened on I-70. Charges are pending against Twenty-two-year-old Brenda Alcaraz. Reportedly, the mother of the 15-year-old was unaware of her daughter’s location, or of the identity of the driver. The investigation is also being joined by federal agents.
Charges remain from October 29 including drug trafficking, and child endangerment.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo – A California woman is facing multiple drug charges after a traffic stop in Lafayette County.
Brenda Alcaraz, 22, of Arvin, California and a juvenile were pulled over by Missouri Highway Patrol on Interstate 70 near Missouri 13 on Tuesday, October 29. Marijuana and other drug paraphernalia were found in the car. Later at the Higginsville Police Station, 5.5 pounds of methamphetamine was found concealed on the juvenile.
Alcaraz is charged with felony drug trafficking, endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is currently being held in the Lafayette County Jail.
