A freeze warning is in effect for the listening area Tuesday night. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with National Weather Service Meteorologist Dan Hawblitzel:
This part of Missouri is experiencing an abnormally cold weather pattern.
“The same weather pattern that’s giving quite a bit of snow to our north. As this system moves out, we are going to be left with some clearing skies, winds dropping off, and that is going to allow temperatures to drop into the lower 30s across the western central Missouri area and areas along and north of Highway 36 could get as low as the upper 20s,” said Hawblitzel.”
Hawblitzel warns that sensitive plants will be susceptible to damage or even death if the freeze gets too hard.
