The University of Missouri Extension in Chillicothe is offering a series of parent education workshops. Click to hear KMZU’s Mike Stone talk to Human Development and Family Studies Specialist Jessica Trussell:
“We will look at what families are doing well and what we can do to improve upon that,” said Trussell,” The areas that we’re going to focus on include communication, managing, stress, positive disciple, money matters, and also kids and self esteem.”
The workshops will be held on Thursday evenings beginning October 11th at the University of Missouri Extension Office. Those planning to attend are asked to pre-register by calling 660-646-0811.
A free parent education workshop series will be offered by University of Missouri Extension beginning Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 6:00p – 8:00p. This 6-week Building Strong Families series will focus on learning to identify and then build upon family strengths to make the family even stronger. Parents will learn new skills to help improve communication, manage stress, learn new discipline techniques and more. The six sessions will be Family Strengths, Communication, Managing Stress, Positive Discipline, Money Matters and Kids and Self-Esteem. Each day covers a different topic, but participants are asked to attend all six sessions.
The workshops will be held at the University of Missouri Extension Office (2881 Grand Dr) in Chillicothe.
