An eastern Missouri teenager has died after being hit by a car while waiting at the end of his driveway for a school bus. The Highway Patrol says the accident happened shortly after 7 a.m. yesterday on Missouri 30 in the Franklin County town of St. Clair. Authorities told KTVI-TV the 23-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and driving under the influence.
A pedestrian was killed during a one vehicle accident in Franklin County Friday morning. According to the Highway Patrol, Ethan Humphries, 23, of Lonedell was Eastbound on Highway 30 East of the Meramec River, when he lost control due to excessive speed for the weather conditions. Humphries ran off the roadway and struck Donald R. Tipton, 15, of St. Clair, killing him at the scene. Humphries also hit a mailbox and overturned. He was seriously injured and his passenger, Tashela Bull, 23, of Lonedell, received moderate injuries. He was taken to Mercy Washington and she was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital.
