The Pettis County Enhanced Enterprise Zone Board of Directors held their annual meeting earlier this week. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Economic Development Saline-Pettis County Linda Christle:
Christle says the group reviewed some projects started in 2006. The tax credits are for new or expanding businesses. Christle says interested companies must apply and submit a letter of intent. The letter must contain a 5-year plan on how the company plans to create jobs or infrastructure and the board has final say on whether businesses can build in the zone.
Christle reports that some businesses destroyed by the May tornado south of Sedalia have been able to take advantage of the designation and start the rebuilding process.
