SEDALIA — Another Pettis County resident has died from COVID-19 for a total of 2 deaths, according to Pettis County Health Center officials on Monday, July 13. Among the 49 actives cases, 5 are hospitalized and “at least 4” are in intensive care, both in Missouri and other state hospitals.
None of the active cases are over the age of 60, they say.

Health officials in Pettis are seeing a 28% increase in confirmed cases since last week. They are asking Covid-positive residents to be forthcoming with all they came in contact for better tracing of the virus. Those who are infected and leave quarantine are violating state law, as well as orders by the Pettis County Health Center, they added.

“For those who are at high risk of serious complications and those who have family members at high risk, the failure of our community to take even the most basic precaution of wearing a mask in public is viewed as self-centered and uncaring,” the health center posted on its social media site.
