Court records indicate Rhett Bredehoeft, 25, was heading west on Route YY in the early morning hours of June 12 when he lost control. Investigators said Bredehoeft veered off the roadway and went down a nearby creek.  The vehicle caught on fire.  Bredehoeft’s passengers, Joshua Driver, 22, Mandy Latty, 19, Ali Schnakenburg, 22, all Concordia residents, and Kyle Chapman, 21, of Osceola, were seriously hurt in the crash.  A fifth passenger, Gregory Kueck, 23, also of Concordia, suffered moderate injuries.  Bredehoeft was transported to jail after being released from an area hospital.  He’s facing five counts of second-degree assault.  Bredehoeft posted the $10,000 bond.  The Honorable Judge John Frerking was assigned to the case by the Missouri Supreme Court. Bredehoeft is scheduled to appear at the Lafayette County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m.
