Press Release From the Macon Police Department:

The Macon Police Department is implementing a new Tips Line. The Tips Line number is 395-1111.  This line is being created to give citizens another avenue to pass along information to police. Callers may use this system when they have information about crimes they may have witnessed or about drug problems in their neighborhood. The system is completely anonymous and callers do not have to leave their name or call back number. When a person calls the Tips Line, after listen to a short greeting, they will be prompted to leave a message and will not be in touch with a live person. This message is then turned into a computer generated email and sent to the Police Department. After the department has received this “tip”, officers will investigate. An officer will not come to your door and ask you for more information. If you would like an officer to come speak with you, we suggest you contact us at our normal business phone number, 660-385-2195.

It is important citizens NOT use this number in matters of emergency. If a citizen has an emergency, they should dial 911. If there is no emergency, but you would like to speak with an officer, citizens should make contact directly with an officer instead of using the Tips Hotline.

The Tips Line number is 395-1111. If you have information about a crime, and don’t want your name involved, please call the tips line. Let us know what is going on in your neighborhood.
