UPDATE (5:11 p.m.) – The suspect in an alleged sexual assault Wednesday in Marceline is still at large. According to a report from the Marceline Police Department, law enforcement responded to a call in the five o’clock hour on West California street in regards to an attack on a woman. An investigation is currently being conducted by the Marceline Police Department. A description of the suspect will be released at a later time.

I would like to take a moment to address the incident that occurred on 05-09-2012 during the five o’clock p.m. hour in the City of Marceline Mo. 911 received a call from W. California street regarding an alleged sexual assault to an adult female.
Marceline Officers, Linn County Sheriff’s Department, Linn County Ambulance, Marceline First Responders arrived on scene and an active investigation is currently on going lead by the Marceline Police Department.
As soon as a positive description of the suspect is confirmed that information will be forwarded as well. The information gained at this time in the case leads the Police Department to believe the incident was an isolated incident and not a random act.
Due to the case being an open investigation, the details of the case will not be disseminated to protect the integrity of the case.

Rumors about the incident continue to circulate, but a spokesman for the city said it was an isolated incident and the numerous tales being told were not true. The police department said they will issue a press release Thursday afternoon.
An alleged criminal posing as a youth minister is wreaking havoc on the town of Marceline. The suspect is described as a white male, about six feet tall, and balding. According to multiple KMZU listeners, the man knocks on the door, forcing homeowners to open, and then he allegedly forces his way inside the residence. The police department said they will release more information Thursday.
