BOONVILLE, Mo. – A student was taken into custody after a threat of school violence in Boonville.

Around 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night, the Boonville Police Department released a statement saying the administration of LSE Middle school contacted them in reference to a verbal threat made by a student to shoot up the school. The student has been taken into custody while the incident is being investigated. The school posted a notice advising parents there will be an elevated police presence at the school today.

The Boonville Police Department, Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, and Cooper County Juvenile Office take all threats to our schools very serious.
