BRAYMER, Mo. — Caldwell County authorities are holding a news conference Wednesday to announce new charges against Garland “Joey” Nelson, in connection with the death of two Wisconsin brothers.

The conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Caldwell County Courthouse.

Brothers Nick and Justin Diemel went missing during a business trip to Nelson’s farm in late July. Charging documents list Nelson with a felony of tampering with a motor vehicle for moving the rental truck purchased by the brothers. He entered a not guilty plea for the charges in October.

During the investigation, human remains were located on Nelson’s property by a forensic anthropologist hired by law enforcement.
