MISSOURI (National Pork Board) — Another pork cut was added to the list of Heart-Check Certified products by the American Heart Association.

According to the National Pork Board, the Pork Checkoff is working with the American Heart Association to highlight the heart-healthy benefits of the pork sirloin roast. This cut of meat adheres to the American Heart Association’s requirements allowing its label as a “heart-healthy food.” The pork sirloin joins the pork tenderloin on the list. The packaging on these meats contains a Heart-Check mark, which allows consumers to easily identify them as healthy.

The Heart-Check Food Certification Program was introduced in 1995 to help consumers identify foods that can be building blocks of a heart-healthy diet, reports the National Pork Checkoff.
