(UPDATE: 02/27/18 6:05 P.M.)-  The boil order has been lifted from Chariton County, according to PWSD #2 of Chariton County. Residents may resume using water as normal.

 

CHARITON COUNTY, Mo. — A water main break in Chariton County has resulted in PWSD No. 2 of Chariton County to issue a boil order.

According to a spokesperson for the water district, a six-inch water main broke early Monday morning. Repairs are underway.

All residents of Chariton County south of J Highway and Orchard Road, including all of Dalton and the Elton Bottoms, will be under a boil order until further notice. The order will remain in effect for at least 24 hours.

All water used for cooking or consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for at least five minutes before use.
