NORTHWEST MISSOURI — A powerful winter storm in the area has left thousands of people in the dark.
According to Kansas City Power and Light, more than 119,000 customers have been affected by outages since the storm moved into the area Friday.
As of 3:30 p.m. Sunday more than 3,800 active outages were reported, including multiple in the KMZU listening area.
Listeners in Carrollton, Higginsville, Marshall, Salisbury, Sedalia and Warrensburg have all reported outages.
Crews are working diligently to repair any downed power lines.
