Charges have been filed on a Fayette man in connection to an incident that happened on April 3rd. Reports indicate officers responded to Central Methodist University in reference to a threat of a gunman in the early morning hours of last Thursday. The campus was cleared and no gunman was found. Police later located a cell phone thought to be owned Brian Baxter, 21, of Fayette. An investigation revealed the phone was used to call in the false report. Baxter was arrested Wednesday on the charge of making a terrorist threat. He was taken to the Howard County Jail where he was later released after posting bond.
