Jefferson City, MO The Missouri House will reportedly try to give the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) final approval this week. The bill does have bi-partisan support.
The bill will track people who doctor shop and help curb the opioid epidemic. Rep. Peggy McGaugh (R-39) said some are opposed because they think that people’s rights are going to be taken away.
There are several other drug monitoring programs being reviewed in the House. McGaugh said her constituents overwhelmingly asked her to support HB188.
The bill got House approval last year but died in the Senate. Missouri is the last state to have a PDMP.
