Ralph Robert Gayle, 72, of Richmond, died Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Ralph was born on November 24, 1946, in Kansas City, the son of Walter and Betty (Truitt) Gayle, Jr. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Shelton of Richmond on November 22, 1968. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one daughter, Sherry Smith of Richmond; three grandchildren: Kyrah (Cody) Horton, Katie Smith, and Treyce Leach; two great-grandchildren: Sophia Horton and Kailor Horton; and one brother, Steve (Vickie) Gayle of Denver City, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald, and two sisters, Karen and Linda.
Ralph retired from Hallmark Cards in March of 2000. After their marriage, Ralph and Marilyn moved from Kansas City and lived the rest of their lives in Richmond. Ralph loved fishing, wood working, his computer, mowing, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Ralph and Marilyn had been married 50 years and were in love from the start.
