CARROLLTON, Mo. — The Ray-Carroll levee district is giving an update on the repair progress.

Repairs are complete on the Belcher-Lozier and Herberger breaches.  The Herberger repair is a temporary project and The Corps of Engineers will build a permanent levee in the coming months. The Wheeler breach is 50% complete and The Corps of Engineers will build another permanent levee at the site.

Construction on the Fifer Slide on Crooked River that occurred in June 2019 has begun on an internally financed permanent repair.

When construction is complete, the district will apply for certification of the repairs and once approved, will allow farm operators and landowners to apply for crop insurance in 2020.
