The Ray County Commission has been visiting cities in their jurisdiction to talk about a possible enhanced enterprise zone. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Ray County Presiding Commissioner Bob King:
King says they’re about done making the rounds to every city, town, or village in the county. They felt it was important to get the word out to the community about what they hoped to gain through the state initiative and answer questions that residents might have about what it would mean for them. The group will be in Elmira on Saturday and then in Hardin on the 25th.
In other commission news, the group is starting to break down the budget for the upcoming year. King says last month’s state audit report revealed some flaws that needed to be fixed and gave them a good place to start when looking forward. According to King, the commission hopes to establish a framework that is workable for the upcoming year.
