RAY COUNTY, Mo. — Law enforcement responded to a domestic abuse disturbance that was not in progress on Sunday afternoon.
The victim told police that 28-year-old Fred Madkins tried to kill her. Upon arrival, officers found Madkins in a vehicle on a driveway. Madkins resisted arrest and had to be subdued with a stun gun.
When medics arrived, Madkins fought officers once more and police found him chewing on a clear bag filled with white powdery substance.
Madkins is formally charged with two counts of felony domestic assault in the second degree, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, felony resisting arrest and two misdemeanor counts of assault in the 4th degree.
Madkins is held on $100,000 cash only bond in Ray County Jail.
No future court dates have been announced.
