Stephen Galliher

All and all, Sedalia had a happy and productive gathering during their bi-weekly Monday evening City Council meeting.  “It got off to a pretty good start getting things round up for the start of the new year,” said Galliher, “We got to give out some special awards. Some were the Christmas Lighting Contest awards, we had a record number of 14 entries this year, the most we’ve ever had.  For the top 3, 1st place was Bryon Matson, 2nd place was Jennifer Gardner, and 3rd place was Jody and Heather Woolery.”

Although many minor topics were discussed, the recognition portion of the night was the center point for the meeting.  “We have Mr. (William) Garrigus who’s had 20 years of service with the Sanitation Department,” Galliher announced, “Commander (Matt) Wirt has been with the Police Department for 15 years, and Project Manager Devin Lake has been with the WPC Department for 5 years, so they all got awards.  We also have the retirement of Battalion Chief David Lilly, he’s been with the Fire Department for 25 years, that’s a long time.”

The council also discussed the main points in getting the sanitation and sewer system project going at a faster pace.  Sedalia’s next Council meeting will be on the 20th of January.
